We provide fiscal and operational infrastructure that enable civil society initiatives to focus on their mission and grow their impact.

By donating to our core work, you help sustain the infrastructure that many initiatives need to carry out their activities. By donating to our individual projects, you strengthen both us and the specific mission of those projects.

Choose your payment option and donation purpose

To donate to a project, use one of the options below and specify the name of the project in the purpose of the payment.

Purpose of the payment: Please specify for which project your donation is intended. If you only state “DONATION”, your donation will be used to support the entire work of Änderwerk.

Donations to projects flow through Änderwerk and are allocated to the project’s budget. For project donations, a 15% solidarity contribution maintains the infrastructure needed to support the project. To support not one specific project but our entire work, you can use the same payment options and just put “DONATE” as the purpose of the payment.

Donation FAQ

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Änderwerk is a German charity, which means that donations to us or our projects are tax-deductible in Germany.

For donations up to € 300, you can download a general donation receipt. Together with your bank statement, it is sufficient to claim donations for tax purposes in Germany: Vereinfachter Spendennachweis Änderwerk gGmbH

For other European countries and larger donations, we’re happy to provide individual donation receipts and work with you on their recognition. For that, please send us your full name, postal address and the date of your transaction to finance@aenderwerk.de.

I want to donate to multiple projects. How can I do it?

If you want to donate to more than one project, will need to make separate transfers for each project. This allows us to clearly allocate your donation and ensure it reaches the intended project.

What happens if I don’t specify a project or purpose?

If you donate to Änderwerk without specifying a project name or a clear purpose, the funds will be allocated to Änderwerk’s core operations and organisational sustainability, allowing us to continue our work effectively.

In case you forgot to specify the project name or purpose, you can get in touch with us at finance@aenderwerk.de. We are happy to help clarify and reallocate your donation.

Are there any fees for donations?

Yes, transaction fees may apply to donations made via PayPal (1.5% of the donation amount plus € 0.39 per transaction), which reduces the net amount we receive. We recommend bank transfers if you want the entire donation amount to reach us and the project you want to donate to.
